Point cloud and Scan to BIM for engineers — structure, MEP, coordination
You are designing services or structure into a building nobody has measured properly. Soffit heights, existing runs, slab thicknesses and structural openings all have to be known before anything can be routed or loaded — and none of it is on the drawings you were given. A registered point cloud gives you the building as it is, and a model gives you something to clash against.
What actually slows you down
Your constraints are specific. Our deliverables and turnaround are built around them, not the other way round.
Routing services under soffits whose real height nobody has measured
Locating existing runs, risers and penetrations that appear on no drawing
Designing a structural intervention without knowing the actual thickness and span of what is there
Coordinating between disciplines when each one works from a different version of the existing building
Discovering a clash on site, when the fabrication is already ordered
How we answer, point by point
Registered point cloud in .e57 or .rcp, ready to drop into Revit, Navisworks or your coordination environment
As-built model at LOD 200 or LOD 300, structured so you can clash against it rather than trace over it
Ceiling voids, risers and technical spaces scanned as a matter of course, not as an extra
One shared geometric base for every discipline, so coordination stops being an argument about whose drawing is right
Slab soffits, structural openings and existing penetrations measured, not estimated
How the job runs
Four stages, from brief to delivery. Every output is shaped by howengineering consultants actually work.
Brief
What you need to design, and to what tolerance. Structural work and MEP routing do not need the same level of detail, and pricing follows the difference.
On site
Mobile scanning through the whole volume, including ceiling voids, plant rooms and risers where they are accessible. Occupied buildings are captured out of hours.
Registration
The cloud is registered and cleaned, then delivered in the format your coordination environment expects. Modelling follows if the brief calls for it.
Handover
Cloud, model and drawings, with a note on conventions so the geometry can be handed between disciplines without reinterpretation.
What you receive
Files that drop straight into your workflow. No improvised conversion, no proprietary format forced on you.
